Las Vegas, Nevas
The Las Vegas Shack is the Shake Shack’s first presence in the Western United States. It was designed as an anchor to the New York, NY resort within the Strip’s first sustainable park. References from the local googie style were incorporated into the design emphasized in the cantilevered roof.
My work with Shake Shack consisted of the development of architectural and brand concepts beyond the standard kit of parts that was initiated with the Madison Square Park Shack. Each iteration was conceived as a composite of the site-specific location, the ‘city,’ the ‘park,’ and the ideological American roadside burger stand.
The Shake Shacks required fast turn-arounds, especially on the international scale. This promoted the use of digital models and quick renderings to test and convey spatial concepts. Materials were selected after much consideration, consultant coordination, and regional research, making each Shack a product of its specific location.
